Baby sea turtles evacuate to Geogia Aquarium
In what may seem like a repeat of Hurricane Matthew, the Georgia Aquarium is accomodating evacuees at its facility.
Some tiny sea turtles from a marinelife center in Florida are staying at the Georgia tourist spot for safekeeping during the storm. The 50 turtles include loggerheads, green turtle hatchlines and leatherback turtles.
Their stay, for now, is indefinite, as their home in just north of West Palm Beach.
“Georgia Aquarium is proud to offer a temporary home and uninterrupted care to these rescued turtles and to work collaboratively with Loggerhead Marinelife Center,” the Georgia Aquarium said in a statement.
